    Police release details of Ellice Avenue stabbing

    As News 4 previously told you, Winnipeg Police are investigating a stabbing that happened in the area of Ellice Avenue and Young Street around 10:30 pm on Friday, September 24, 2021.

    Police say that the male in his 30s was walking in the area when he was assaulted and robbed of his possessions by a group of people. He was allegedly stabbed during the altercation but was able to escape and make his way onto Ellice Avenue where he collapsed.

    When officers arrived on the scene they found the victim being given first aid by bystanders. Police took over first aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable.

    Members from the Major Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information or video surveillance to call investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
