Police release additional information on the Bar Italia shooting

Winnipeg Police Service has released more information regarding the shooting in front of Bar Italia on Corydon Avenue on Saturday morning, October 23, 2021.

Police say that two suspects, a 21-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, were taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

Investigators believe that after one of the accused was denied entry to the bar he pulled out a gun and shot several rounds into the bar and at people fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.

Police recovered a firearm.

Multiple shots were fired during the incident littering Cockburn Street North with shell casings.

Police say that both males were charged with firearm-related offences and detained in custody.
