Winnipeg Police are looking for information that can help identify a person of interest in connection to a shooting that happened on June 18, 2020 in the Simcoe and St. Mathews area.
According to police accounts of the incident a female was walking in the area when a male approached her asking for directions. The female victim tried to help the male by using her phone. The male then attempted to take the phone but the victim resisted and an altercation occurred. The male then shot the female in her upper body, stole the phone and fled.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police would like to talk to the person of interest depicted in the photo below.
The male appears to be a Caucasian male, 18-30 years old, 5’4″ to 5’8″ tall with dark hair and a skinny build. He was wearing light coloured shorts and a black hoodie with an unknown logo.
