Police nab suspects after gun incident at Pembina Highway lounge

Three men are in custody after a gun incident in the 600 block of Pembina Highway on November 22, 2023.

According to Winnipeg police, officers responded to the incident around 8:10 pm. When police arrived they learned a dispute arose between two suspects and a 27-year-old male victim a VLT machine. The suspect threatened to shoot up the establishment before fleeing.

A short while later three men returned armed with a gun. No one was injured and the suspects took off in a vehicle.

Police searched the area and located vehicle and suspects in the 800 block of Weatherdon Avenue.

A search of the vehicle located:

  • 2 kilograms of cocaine – estimated street value $60,000
  • 1 ounce of fentanyl – estimated street value $3000
  • 100 oxycontin tablets – estimated street value $4000
  • Approximately $10,000 Canadian currency
  • 2 x 3D printed handguns and ammunition (one firearm was loaded)

Three males aged 21,19 and 18 have been charged for their alleged involvement with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition x 2
  • Possession of a loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle x 2
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 3
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Uttering Threats
  • Possession of a Weapon x 2
