Winnipeg Police arrested a male and female after they were allegedly involved in a crime spree that dates back to the fall of 2015.
It began on October 7, 2015. Several youth were reportedly breaking into garages, homes and vehicles in the River Heights area of the city. They surfaced again on May 24, 2016 when the pair allegedly stole cash and property, including a vehicle belonging to a family member while in the area of St. Paul Avenue.
On May 25, 2016 at approximately 4:35 a.m., the two entered a convenience store on Killarney Avenue. They allegedly stole items from the store and fled on foot after assaulting staff.
An hour later the duo broke into a shed, vehicles and garages at different locations on Purdue Bay and Dalhousie Drive. Damage was caused and property stolen.
A 17 year old male and 16 year old female have been charged with numerous offences with include:
17 year old male: Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Theft Over $5000.00, Theft Under $5000.00 x 3, Break Enter – Theft x 7, Break, Enter w/Intent x 3, Mischief x 19 including Highway Traffic Act offences.
16 year old female: Robbery, Possession of a Weapon, Theft Over $5000.00, Theft Under $5000.00 x 3, Break Enter – Theft x 5, Break, Enter w/Intent, Mischief x 4
