A 22-year-old Winnipeg man is facing drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop on Salter Street and Pritchard Avenue led to the seizure of a significant quantity of cocaine.
On March 27, 2025, at approximately 9:17 p.m., North District General Patrol officers pulled over a vehicle with Alberta license plates for an unrelated traffic violation. During the stop, officers observed behaviour and drug paraphernalia indicating potential drug trafficking activity.
Following the arrest of the driver without incident, a search of the vehicle yielded approximately 520 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $18,000. Officers also seized a digital scale, packaging materials, and two cell phones.
The arrested individual, a 22-year-old male from Winnipeg, has been charged with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – COCAINE, and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice, as mandated by the Criminal Code, and will appear in court at a later date.
