Winnipeg Police have made an arrest in the killing of 33-year-old Greg Joseph Jr. Dumas at a residence on Alexander Avenue in early January. This was the third homicide of 2020.

Dumas had been found by police after being called to a vacant residence on January 14, 2020.
Investigators believe that Dumas was killed on January 6, 2020
Police say that on February 4, 2020, while responding to reports of squatters in a vacant building on Elgin Avenue they found the homicide suspect and took her into custody.
Police say that the suspect had been unlawfully residing at the Alexander Avenue property at the time the homicide took place. They say the victim and suspect were acquaintances.
Investigators say the victim was assaulted with a blunt instrument which caused fatal injuries.
34-year-old Sonya Leah-Ann Buck from Winnipeg has been charged for her alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder and two counts of Unlawfully in a Dwelling House.
Buck was detained in custody.
