Police make arrest following pursuit through the north end

Winnipeg Police Service has arrested one person following a pursuit in the north end of the city on Saturday night, March 9, 2024.

A white Caravan was seen travelling northbound on Salter Street shortly after 9:00 p.m. at an extremely high rate of speed with police close behind. Air1 tracked the vehicle as it wound through the area for about 20 minutes before heading westbound on Inkster where patrol vehicles were able to box it in and end the pursuit.

One person was seen in handcuffs being taken to a nearby patrol unit.

It is not known at this time what prompted the pursuit or if the vehicle was stolen.

News 4 has reached out to police regarding the incident but has not heard back at the time of publication.
