Police need help identifying male involved in groping case

Winnipeg Police are asking for help from the public in identifying a man they say possibly groped two women in as many days.

On Friday, May 18, 2018, a female in her 30s was walking in the skywalk near Bell MTS Place at Cityplace around 7:30 am when a male grabbed her.

The male is described as Black, 5′ tall with a small build and appeared to be in his 20s. He was wearing a T-shirt and cargo pants.

On Saturday another female was groped this time it happened in the walkway between the YMCA and Portage Place.

Investigators say that the incidents were similar and occurred only blocks apart. They say they believe that the incidents are related and they have released security images related to the second incident.

In the second incident the suspect was described as Black, in his 20s, about 5’8″ tall and approximately 150lbs with short black hair and a slight accent.

The Sex Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate and is asking anyone with information to contact them at 204-986-6245.
