Police looking for suspect in Agnes Street killing

Winnipeg Police are looking for a suspect in connection to a homicide on Agnes Street on Friday, March 12, 2021.

Officers were called to a home just north of Elice Avenue around 4:20 pm for the report of a male who had been assaulted. The victim, 30-year-old Russel Gibeault, was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

A Canada-wide warrant for Second Degree Murder has been issued for 34-year-old Alvin Joseph Glen Nelson.

Nelson is described as aa Indigenous male standing 5’11” tall with a medium build. He has brown eyes and black medium length hair, with a mustache and goatee. He has a skull with horns tattoo on his left forearm.

Police advice that Nelson should not be approached. If you see him or know where he is call 911. Any information that can help investigators is asked to call (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
