Police looking for second suspect in Portage Avenue hotel stabbing

Winnipeg police have released more information about the stabbing in a Portage Avenue hotel on Monday, January 24, 2022.

According to police several people had gathered in a suite in the hotel for a drinking party. An argument broke out between the victim and several other people in the suite. The verbal argument escalated into a physical fight at which time the victim was stabbed. The two suspects took off and other people in the room called police.

On January 25, 2022 investigators arrested 25-year-old Tristan Thomas Ross in connection to the stabbing. Ross has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized and Fail to Comply Probation Order.

Investigators identified the second suspect as 24-year-old Shane Christopher David Delaronde. A warrant for his arrest has been issued for aggravated assault and weapon-related offences.
