Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit are asking the public for help with a violent robbery investigation.

The incident happened on July 20, 2022, around Hargrave Street and Ellice Avenue.

Police believe that a 62-year-old woman in a wheelchair was attacked from behind and fell to the ground. She suffered significant injuries that left her in hospital for more than a month. During the attack a number of items including her jewellery and wallet were stolen.

Investigators say that the victim can remember very little about the robbery but she thinks a bystander may have helped her back into her wheelchair.
