Police looking for gravelly voiced robbery suspect

A male in his 20 was walking along the footpath south of Portage Avenue near Empress Street around 8:00 am on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, when he was confronted by an unknown male.

The suspect, while brandishing a sharp object, demanded the victim turn over his property then slashed him with the object cutting his shirt.

The victim was able to escape the situation and the suspect fled in the opposite direction.

The suspects is described as an Indigenous male in his 40s or 50s, over 6 feet tall with a heavy built and noticeable belly. He was wearing black pants, black sweater and a black torque. The victim described his voice as raspy/gravelly sounding.
