Winnipeg Police say they are looking for a male suspect after a 19-year-old female was sexually assaulted near Salter Street and Burrows Avenue on Canada Day.
Around 6:00 am the female was walking in the area when a man approached her and began a conversation. The male then sexually assaulted her and took her to a secluded area where he continued to sexually assault her.
Police say the victim was able to get away and contact them. The victim was taken to hospital.

Police say the assailant is a black male about 29-years-old, 6’0″ – 6’2″ tall. He has a skinny build and braided hair. He had tattoos on both arms and was wearing a white t-shirt with grey sweatpants.
