Police lay over 40 charges in stolen vehicle investigation

RCMP in Neepawa has laid more than 40 charges against three adults and a youth in connection to a stolen vehicle investigation.

Officers were called to a parking lot on Main Street East for the report of a stolen vehicle. Three adults and a 16-year-old male were arrested. As the investigation unfolded a second stolen vehicle was found in the same parking lot and linked to the suspects.

RCMP searched the vehicles and the accused and seized four firearms, 64 grams of Meth, some cocaine, bear spray, other weapons and stolen property.

Police have charged a 31-year-old female from Ste Rose du Lac, a 21-year-old female from Portage la Prairie, a 25-year-old male from Dauphin and 16-year-old male from Regina with property, weapons offences and drug-related offences. The 16-year-old male was also charged with resisting arrest.

Both female suspects were given court dates and released from custody. Both male suspects were remanded into custody.

Police continue to investigate.
