Suspect may be heading to B.C.

A 36 year old mother is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after she allegedly fled with her daughter.

18 month old Seaira Neveah Hunter was supposed to have a scheduled visitation with her father on Wednesday but when her mother failed to drop off the child police became involved.

During the course of the day RCMP in Selkirk did manage to speak to the mother, Rebecca Mikalosh by phone but she refused to meet with officers but did tell them she had her daughter and she was fine.

RCMP believe that Rebecca may have taken Seaira to Saskatchewan or Alberta in a 2001 grey Ford Taurus with Manitoba plate GVD 275.

Police say that they don’t believe that Seaira is in any imminent physical danger and that is why an Amber Alert was not issued.

RCMP are hoping to talk with the mother again and are hoping this public plea will prompt her to call.
