RCMP has issued an arrest warrant for the suspect in a shots fired incident in a Gimli residence on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Officers responded to a home on Lake Avenue in Gimli following a report of an adult male discharging a firearm towards two people during a dispute.
The two victims in the incident, a 55-year-old female and 27-year-old male left the residence and contacted police. The suspect who was known to the victims fled the scene. Inside the home officers located a 32-year-old female who was placed under arrest after an unsecured firearm was found in the home. The woman was taken to the Gimli detachment but she declined to speak to officers.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
RCMP are continuing to search for the suspect and have issued an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Joseph Henderson. Although the suspect is from Fort Alexander officers believe he is in Winnipeg. Henderson has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats and numerous firearms-related offences. He’s considered armed and dangerous and police are asking that he not be approached.
