Winnipeg police are investigating three separate stabbing incidents that occurred on Friday, December 27, 2024.
The first incident took place at around 6:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Mountain Avenue. A woman in her 30s went into a store asking for help after being stabbed in the upper body. Officers from the North District provided first aid and she was taken to hospital in stable condition. A woman in her 20s, believed to be known to the victim, was arrested nearby. She is facing charges of robbery and weapons offences.
The second incident occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. in the 1200 block of Jefferson Avenue. Officers from the North District found a man in his 20s with serious upper body injuries. A man in his 30s, known to the victim, was arrested at the scene. Following treatment, both men were arrested – the victim for a previous incident, and the other man on assault charges. Both were later released on undertakings.
The third incident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Alfred Avenue. A man in his 40s was stabbed during a robbery. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition but his condition has since been upgraded to stable. The suspect is unknown and the Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
