Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating after a 29-year-old man was fatally assaulted early Saturday morning outside a beer vendor in the 200 block of Dorothy Street.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at 1:19 am. When general patrol and tactical support team officers arrived they found an unresponsive male with life-threatening injuries on the ground beside a black pickup truck. Police immediately began performing CPR on the man until paramedics arrived. He was taken to hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead on arrival.
The victim has been identified as Enrique George Courchene of Winnipeg.
