Just after 11:40 pm Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Support Team and general patrol officers responded to the report of an assault on Ellice Avenue at Agnes Street.
When officer arrived they found a 31-year-old male lying half on the sidewalk and half on the street.
Paramedics were called and the male was transported to hospital in stable condition.
Police say no arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.
