Winnipeg Police Service is investigating an assault on Friday night, November 6, 2020, on Alexander Avenue at Gunnell Street.
Police say that they were called to the scene around 10:00 pm for the report of a male who had been assaulted. He was transported to hospital but in an email to News 4 police said “We have no information we can provide on his medical status or the investigation at this time.”
The WPS Forensic unit arrived on the scene just after midnight taking a number of photos and gathering evidence near the front steps of and inside a home.
People in the area told a News 4 photographer that they heard four gunshots shortly before police arrived.
The investigation continues.
