Police investigate three stabbings overnight

Winnipeg Police Service is investigating a series of stabbings Friday night into Saturday morning that happened in the downtown and north end areas.

Around 8:40 pm a February 9, 2024, officers responded to a stabbing near Donald Street and Portage Avenue. When officers arrived they found a man in his 40s with injuries. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition but has been upgraded to stable.

Less than six hours later at 1:50 am on Saturday, February 10, officers responded to the 800 block of Main Street and found a male victim in his 20s with multiple stab wounds. Officers provided emergency medical care, including the use of a chest seal. The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

The third stabbing occurred near Church Avenue at Main Street around 4:00 am. The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit are investigating all three incidents and say that no suspects have been arrested in any of the cases.
