Winnipeg Police Service was called to the 500 block of Mountain Avenue for the report of a shooting around 12:45 am on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
When officers arrived they found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but soon died from his injuries.

Police used crime scene tape to cordon off a section of the back lane between Andrews Street and McGregor Street where items lay on the ground.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit are investigating.
