In the early hours of February 2, 2025, at approximately 6:52 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service received a report of an unresponsive male found assaulted in the 300 block of Blake Street.
Responding to the call, Central District General Patrol officers, aided by K-9 units, quickly located the injured man. Despite their immediate efforts to administer emergency medical care, the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later pronounced deceased.
The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Justin Boulanger, a member of Berens River First Nation and resident of Winnipeg.
The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and has informed the family of the tragic loss.
