Police investigate attempted child abduction in North Point Douglas

Officers with the Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unitare looking into a reported abduction attempt of a child on Austin Street North.

Around 3:40 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, police received a call that said an adult male was seen attempting to grab a child in the area. The child was not physically injured. The suspect fled in a silver-coloured SUV.

Police say the male is about 5’7″ tall with a medium build. He was unshaven with curly brown hair. He had on a baseball cap, dark-coloured t-shirt, dark khaki pants and blue runners.
