Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit is investigating after a vehicle was shot at on Maryland Street on July 30, 2023.

Police say the incident happened around 10:00 pm near Sargent Avenue, and that the vehicle was hit by a bullet which caused a window to shatter. Two children in the rear of the vehicle were injured by flying glass. They were treated in hospital and released.

Investigators do not believe the shots were intended for the victim’s vehicle. They believe the incident may be part of a drug conflict.
