Winnipeg Police Service homicide detectives have identified the victim in the August 4, 2020, Selkirk Avenue shooting.
Police had responded to the area after receiving a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to hospital but did not survive his injuries.
The victim ahas been identified as 29-year-old Owen Russell Smith
Homicide investigators continue to work the cased believe that more witnesses were in the area at the time of the shooting that have not been interviewed. Anyone who witnessed the shooting or may have information that can help detectives is asked to call (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
