Winnipeg homicide detectives have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man in connection to the stabbing death in the 400 block of Burrows Avenue on May 30, 2023.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Alan Henry Anderson of Winnipeg.

Investigators believe that the victim and suspect did not know each other before their violent interaction.

Police say that the men were in separate groups on Salter Street near Burrows Avenue when they got into a dispute which escalated into a physical altercation. The victim suffered serious injuries due to being stabbed. He was taken to hospital but did not survive. The suspect fled before police arrived on the scene.

Police located the suspect on Mountain Avenue later the same day and placed him under arrest.

Cory Dylan Watt has been charged forces alleged involvement with Manslaughter.

Police do not anticipate any other arrests related to the incident.
