On Friday, September 28, 2018, police were called to the recycling depot on Omands Creek Boulevard after the body of a woman was found. Police believed at the time that the body had been moved from another location.
Homicide investigators have now identified the deceased victim as 33-year-old Mary Madeline Yellowback
Investigators say that they know Yellowback was in the downtown area on Thursday evening, September 27, 2018, and they would like to talk to anyone who may have had contact with her or seen her that night or the next day.
Security footage from Thursday shows Mary wearing blue jeans, a grey hoodie with a red ‘R’ on the front. Yellowback is described as Indigenous, about 5’7″ tall and weighing 135 lbs.
