Brandon Police (BPS) are happy today after receiving more than $ 76,500 worth of new tactical equipment.
On Wednesday, August 29, 2018, Manitoba Justice Minister Cliff Cullen announced the funding that came through the Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund.
“It’s important for officers to have the necessary gear to ensure they are as protected as possible. We are proud to make this important investment in officer safety from Manitoba’s Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund,” said Justice Minister Cliff Cullen.
BPS will use the influx of cash to buy new ballistic vests and helmets for the tactical unit as well as purchasing a supply of tourniquets that will be carried by all officers. The tourniquets have been proven to save lives in other jurisdictions including Winnipeg.
