Police find male suffering from stab wounds on Ellice Avenue

Winnipeg Police are investigating a stabbing incident that happened late Friday night, July 8, 2022.

Members of the Guns and Gangs Unit were in the area of Ellice Avenue and Furby Street when they came across a male with blood on his shirt. The male, in his twenties, had been stabbed and was taken to hospital in unstable condition. He was later upgraded to stable.

Police shut down Ellice Avenue in both directions for about 15 minutes as officers investigated then opened the westbound lane. Officers were on the scene until the early morning hours on Saturday.

Police have made no arrests but are continuing to investigate.
