Winnipeg Police Service homicide detectives located an improvised explosive device (IED) while investigating a homicide in a Mulvey Avenue apartment on Friday, September 15, 2023.
While officers were investigating the September 13 shooting death of Damion Skrumeda in an apartment in the 600 block they found a suspicious item they believed to be an IED. Officers evacuated the building and members of the Bomb Unit were called in.
The IED was determined to be live. It was safely disrupted. No one was injured in the incident.
