UPDATED STORY
Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Support Team (TST) executed a high-risk search warrant on a home in the 500 block of Spence Street late Saturday night, September 23, 2023, as part of a drug and firearms investigation.
At approximately 9:20pm officers stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Ellice Avenue and seized a number of items including:
- Loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle
- Numerous 12-gauge shotgun shells
- .22 calibre ammunition
- Several cellular phones
- $3,315 in Canadian currency
- 770 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value – $40,000)
- 489 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value – $75,000)
- 15 Percocet pills (estimated street value – $300)
- Digital scales and packaging material
- 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun
- 9mm handgun and magazine
- 275 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value – $14,000)
- 9 grams of cocaine (estimated street value – $900)
- 1 gram of fentanyl (estimated street value – $150)
Later in the evening police officers decended on the home on Spence Street to execute a warrant.
Multiple general patrol units along with a k-9 unit and paramedics were on the scene to support TST. The team’s armoured rescue vehicle (ARV) was seen sitting on the boulevard with a breaching ram attached to the front.
A search of the home netted a number of items that were seized by police including:
- .22 calibre rifle
- Digital scale
- Shotgun shells
- .22 caliber ammunition
- A piece of a sawed-off barrel
Justyn Barry Bourne, 36, Roman Soloman Houle, 37, Nathan Wayne McKay, 30, and Jarrod Michael Davis, 32, have been charged for their alleged involvement with numerous drug and weapon-related offences. All four have been detained in custody.
Two females aged 21 and 45 have also been charged and since released.
Spence Street was closed in both directions north of Sargent Avenue while officers were on scene.
No injuries were reported
