A 32-year-old Winnipeg man is facing more than 20 charges in connection to a rash of commercial robberies during the first two weeks of February 2023.
Police say that the suspect, in many of the incidents, was armed with a knife and was able to get money and products from the victim’s businesses. In other cases, he told staff that he was armed with a weapon. In some of the cases, he was unsuccessful in his robbery attempt.
Police believe that he used a stolen vehicle during the robberies.
On February 14, 2023, investigators were in the area of a robbery attempt and spotted the stolen vehicle being operated in the area. The vehicle was stopped and a suspect was arrested.
The 32-year-old male was charged for his alleged involvement with 10 counts of Robbery, 10 counts of Disguise with intent and Theft of Motor Vehicle.
Police are not releasing the suspect’s name at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
The suspect was detained in custody.
