An armed man was arrested by police after leading them on a foot chase through Polo Park mall on Friday, September 7, 2018.
Police say they received a report of a man with a firearm on Jack Blick Avenue around 10:30 am. When officers arrived on scene the noticed the suspect entering the mall and gave chase.
The suspect was taken down just outside the mall in a parking lot. A search of the suspect revealed a black pellet gun and bolt cutters.
Police say that the suspect had stolen a pair of shoes from a nearby store then went to a second business and attempted to steal a locked bicycle using the bolt cutters. When confronted while attempting to steal the bike the suspect pointed the weapon at the individual and then took off on foot.
A 22-year-old male is facing charges for Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Possession of a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment, Theft Under $5000
