A 45-year-old male is in custody after police linked him to a series thefts involving overhead cables.
Investigators with the Property Crimes Unit learned of the thefts in early February 2022. At the time a major internet provider reported a series of thefts of aerial cable used to supply internet to residential and business customers. The costs associated with replacement and repair of the cables totalled about $100,000.
Investigators were able to identify a suspect and on March 24, 2022, they arrested him while he was in the process of retrieving a previously cut cable.
Jeffrey Alexander Sholdra has been charged for his alleged involvement with nine counts of Theft Over $5,000.
Sholdra was detained in custody.
