Police believe two males died from exposure near Lac Brochet

The bodies of two men were found near Lac Brochet on Wednesday afternoon, March 10, 2021, after failing to return to the community the day before.

Police say three men were out snowmobiling near the community when their machine broke down. The trio began walking back to town but became separated as conditions deteriorated. A 31-year-old male was able to make it back but the two men with him did not.

Community members went out searching for the missing men only to find them dead not far from Lac Brochet.

RCMP believe the pair died from exposure but are continuing to investigate pending the results of an autopsy.
