On Monday Winnipeg Police patrolling in the 500 block of William Avenue notice a woman who was acting suspicious.
When approached by officers the woman told them that she was carrying a sawed-off-shotgun in her bag.
When police opened the bag they found the gun and also noticed that the serial number had been removed.
Police arrested 43 year old Jennifer Lynnette Cook from Winnipeg. She is facing a number of firearm related charges for her alleged involvement and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
Cook remains in custody.
