Police arrest two additional youths in connection to the November 11, 2023, killing of 27-year-old Peter Flip in the Alexander neighbourhood
Flip had been assaulted by a group of male youths outside an Arlington Street vendor around 2:00 am. One of the suspects fatally stabbed Flip.
As the suspects were fleeing, four of them approached three male teens near Tecumseh Street at Logan Avenue and robbed them of clothing. One of the victims was injured in the incident and taken to hospital for treatment.
Shortly afterwards the four suspects attempted to carjack a vehicle near Burrows Avenue and Salter Street. Although a knife was pulled on the victim and one of the suspects attempted to shoot the victim with a sawed-off rifle. The vehicle’s driver was able to disarm the teen with the firearm and retake control of his vehicle. The victim drove himself to police headquarters. He sustained an injury to his upper body but did not require medical treatment.
Between December 11 and 20, 2023, officers arrested four of the suspects allegedly involved in the incident. Two 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were charged with Manslaughter.
On January 11, 2024, a 14-year-old male was arrested and charged with robbery and firearm offences. On January 31, 2024 a 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with Robbery and Manslaughter.
The names of the offenders have not been released as they are minors as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
