A 19-year-old male is facing assault and weapons charges after he was arrested for the stabbing of a 34-year-old man on Portage Avenue on Sunday morning, August 20, 2023.
According to Winnipeg Police Service the victim and suspect became involved in a physical altercation during which the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the upper-body. The victim suffered critical injuries in the incident and collapsed to the sidewalk while the suspect walked away.
Passersby rendered aid until police arrived on the scene.
Robert Nashih was arrested on August 21, 2023, and detained in custody.
