Police arrest suspect in Long Plain First Nation stabbing

Manitoba First Nations Police Service have a 50-year-old female in custody in connection to the stabbing of another female.

On August 7, 2021, officers were called to a home on Long Plain First Nation for the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived on the scene they found the female victim had several stab wounds to the upper body. She was transported by STARS air ambulance to hospital and is recovering.

Loreen Peters, from Long Plain First Nation was arrested at the scene and taken into custody without incident. She has been charged for her alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault.

Peters was detained in custody.
