Suspect caught two weeks after fleeing police
Earlier this month News 4 told you about a case involving a man was in a cab when police pulled it over. The male fled to a residence on Redwood Avenue with an officer in close pursuit. As the officer tried to place the man in custody he pulled away. The officer was pushed down a set of stairs and had coffee splashed on him.
Throughout the struggle, the man had a bag hanging from his neck. As the officer and the man jostled a loaded firearm and a set of handcuffs fell out of the bag. As the man broke free of the officer he handed off the bag to a female who had come out of the house. The man got away but the female was placed under arrest.
The bag, as it turned out, contained cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and what police believed to be fentanyl worth more than $11,500
