As News4 told you on May 28, 2017 around 3:30 am an 18 year old male was hit by a vehicle at Jefferson Avenue and McPhillips Street.
When emergency crews arrived they found the male in critical condition and took him to hospital.

A few days after the collision police asked for the public’s help identifying a dark coloured Jeep Wrangler with a damaged front end that was possibly the suspect vehicle.

Police investigators were eventually able to identify the driver and on June 12, 2017 they arrested and charged 22 year old Daniel Bembenek with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm and Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident Involving Bodily Harm for his alleged involvement.
Bembenek has been detained in custody.
