Winnipeg police have arrested a 42-year-old woman who they say is responsible for a two-month crime spree.
According to police the suspect was responsible for eight robberies between April 24 and June 17, 2021, a retail clothing outlets and drugstores.
In each of the robberies she threatened employees with a syringe and on one occasion a knife as she fled the stores after stealing a number of items.
The robberies took place in the 800 and 1000 block of Leila Avenue, the 2300 block of McPhillips Street and the first 100 block of Marion Street.
Over the course of the robberies police say the suspect stole about $6,000 worth of goods. None of the items have been recovered.
Gerry Dawn Chevillard has been charged for her alleged involvement with eight counts of Robbery and two counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.
Chevillard was detained in custody.
