A number of people in an Austin Street mutli-suite residence were terrorized by two men early Wednesday morning, December 12, 2018.
Police say that around 5:00 am they received a report a man with a gun. When they arrived they found a 29-year-old female had been shot in the upper body along with several other people who had been victimized.
The incident began when two men armed with loaded firearms went from suite to suite, breaking in and stealing cash, jewellery, electronics and clothing. The residents were held at gunpoint in a confined area of the building for several hours while being threatened, assaulted and robbed. Police say that the firearm was discharged a number of times during the incident. During one of the times the suspects fired the weapon is when the victim was shot.
Police say that the gunshot victim was taken to hospital, treated and released.
When officers searched the building they found two adult male both with firearms.
Police say that one of the guns used in the crime was from a 2014 Dodge Charger that was stolen in June of this year.
Joey Ryce Chief from Brokenhead and Lindsay Jordan Mousseau from MacDonald, both 27, are facing 157 charges between them for their alleged involvement including Aggravated Assault, Forcible Confinement, Robbery with a firearm and uttering threats.
Both men were also wanted on warrants for failing to comply with Probation Orders and have been detained in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
