Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a residential fire on Austin Street in Point Douglas early Sunday morning, November 17, 2019.
When crews arrived at the two and a half storey residence just after 2:00 am they encountered heavy smoke coming from the structure.
Although the blaze was under control fairly quickly the building sustained significant damage from smoke, fire and water.
Two people were taken to hospital by paramedics – one in unstable condition the other in stable condition.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
