Pizza Delivery Turns Violent: Man Arrested for Assault and Theft

Brandon – On April 15th, a pizza delivery employee was assaulted at a residence located in the 1100 block of 9th Street. The incident occurred at 4:10 pm when the driver arrived to deliver a pizza order.

The driver reported that a child initially answered the door, holding an excessive amount of money to pay for the pizza. When the driver informed the child that he did not have enough change, a male individual emerged from inside the residence. The man began yelling at the driver, pushing him and spitting in his face.

Fearing for his safety, the driver returned to his vehicle with the pizza. However, the situation escalated when the man, shirtless and barefoot, approached the driver’s car. He opened the car door, forcibly took the pizza, and also grabbed the debit machine.

The police were promptly notified and arrived at the scene. A 36-year-old male was arrested on charges of assault and theft. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the man had two outstanding warrants for assault and failing to attend court.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 16th, 2024.
