RCMP hunt for missing swimmer at Pinawa Dam

Tragedy struck on Monday, July 2, 2018, after an 18-year-old male slid down the old Pinawa Dam, went under the water and did not resurface.

The RCMP dive team, Lac du Bonnet Fire Department and Manitoba Sustainable Development are all on-scene searching the Lee River and dam site for the man.

Although swimming is not allowed at the site, for decades locals and tourists have slid down the rapids above the dam.

As soon as conditions allow the RCMP dive team will be searching underwater for the man.
