Serious rollover on Perimeter Highway

UPDATED

Emergency crews responded to a collision between a pickup truck and a car just after 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2019, on the Perimeter Highway between Kenaston Boulevard and Waverley Street.

Police say that the driver of the car allegedly tried to pass the pickup but had not completely passed when he tried to change lanes and both vehicles collided sending the car into the ditch where it rolled.

RCMP closed the eastbound lanes of the highway and detoured vehicles around the scene until about 5:25 pm.

Firefighters had to extricate the 48-year-old male driver from the vehicle.

Investigators say that the man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
