Woman pepper-sprayed, robbed entering Concordia Hospital

A 20-year-old man and a 12-year-old youth are facing robbery, assault and weapons charges after it is alleged they were involved in an attack against a woman in her 50s as she was walking from the parking lot to Concordia Hospital.

Police say the attack happened just before 11:00 am on Sunday, April 8, 2018. The woman was walking into the hospital with her 5-year-old granddaughter when she was confronted by the two male suspects. She was pepper-sprayed without warning and fell to the ground. The suspects stole her purse and ran off. The 5-year-old was also contaminated by the pepper spray. Witnesses to the attack took both victims into the hospital where they were treated.

Police located the suspects in a residence nearby and arrested and charged both suspects.

Brandon Woodhouse, 20, has been charged with Robbery, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Controlled Drug or Substance (Marihuana).

The 12-year-old male was charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
Woodhouse was held in custody while the 12-year-old was released on a promise to appear in court.
